Hey I’m new to this subreddit and wanted some advice.

I want to be able to customize my internet settings for gaming l, better speeds etc. and xfinity XB7 router doesn’t allow this.

I was wondering if I should get a modem and router combination that’s supported by xfinity and return their equipment entirely vs buying a router and connecting it LAN to LAN.

Which option will be better and can I also get some suggestions? So far I am looking at the Netgear Nighthawk CAX80
