Howdy folks!
First off, I’d like to announce the newest member of our mod team, @[email protected]. They also moderate a few other music communities on Lemmy. Most notably related are the [email protected] and [email protected] communities.
Which leads me to the next thing - The music communities on lemmy.world are plentiful. We’ve partnered with a few other music communities on lemmy.world (mostly ran by us mods lol) and have added links in the sidebar. Please check them out, you might find other music you enjoy.
We have other plans in the works, but those will come in time. Don’t worry, no big changes or anything.
l also may stop numbering my updates because it’s apparently too hard for me to keep track of single digits. Maybe I’ll get the hang of it soon.
As always, we welcome feedback from the community. Feel free to leave comments, message the mods, or make a post.
Thanks for reading and hanging out here. Y’all make it a wonderful community.
Big ups! Grateful for this community. As a former redditor, current DnB/Jungle producer and head, having this community is huge!
Thanks for sharing with the jungle community! Hopefully we’ll hear more stuff from you. It’s awesome when people share their own works. I love it.
Pro-Tip: I use my fingers to keep track of single digits. I’m still holding up 5 since the last update so I’m quite sure this is update 6!
As you probably noticed I’m less active here since becoming an admin on the Lemmy World instance but I think we can all agree the community is in good hands with @[email protected] and now @[email protected] being added to the team.
I have transferred [email protected] and [email protected] to @[email protected]. So he is the top-mod now 🫡
Cheers on the update!
Hey man, been lurking since you pretty much started posting, just dont have much to post myself.
I have however been posting over in - https://lemmy.ml/c/dubstep pretty much every single day just trying to build content as that is more my area.
I dont know who created it or who mods it but it is the only dubstep community i have found so far. Im trying to post content based on the proper “real” dubstep sound and not the robots fighting brostep sound. I dunno if you wanted to create a community on lemmy world instead I would be happy to move my posting over to there just to have some cohesion of instance where all these bass music based communities live but i would be happy to do so.
Either way keep up the good work over here and I’ll keep posting regardless xD
Thanks for plugging the dubstep community lemmy.ml.
There are two dubstep communities here, [email protected] and [email protected] but they’re both empty and inactive. Weve been trying to contact the owners to see whats going on. Hopefully we can get them to be active.
Ah nice, these didn’t exist when I did my initial search for a place to post which is why I landed where I did. I am just apprehensive to carry on posting and trying to build something where there is no one actively controlling it which is why I thought Id jump onto this post and see what you had to say.
The realdubstep community you mentioned is definitely where what I have been posting would fit in best but if you aren’t able to contact the owners of that either then there is no point in jumping ship.
I considered making a community on my home instance (fmhy) i just don’t want there to be a million different communities that could confuse lemmy noobs when it is already a fairly niche subject in the grand scheme of things.
I remember reading about the possibilty of the instance owner being able to transfer ownership of a community, is that true? Could we get the dubstep communities on lemmy world under some active control?
Yes, admins are able to transfer ownership of a community due to inactivity/absenteeism. I believe they have reached out to the owners and are waiting for a response before changing owners.
Hopefully, something will happen with those communities. It’s valuable community space.
Still didn’t hear back from the the mods of those communities so if you make a post there I can transfer them to you.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]
Thanks bot-man.
