What are some of your favorite free and open source games with mod support?
Mindustry and Minetest. Both great games. Both with thriving modding communities.
Mindustry is awesome.
AlephOne (Marathon) trilogy has a great community of modders and is still a surprisingly fun game.

Super Tux Kart, The Dark Mod, and X-Moto are great. I created the original Skate Park Mod and a few of the early “interesting replays” like Slinky Mod, German Ham, and the first “cheating” replay.
@jazztickets Oh sick, I didn’t realize The Dark Mod could be played entirely on its own now! I thought it was more like Doom & you still needed a copy of Thief to use & play it.
And this is the first I’ve read of X-Moto, which is wild given the popularity of some of its closed-source contemporaries. Great to know there’s a more community driven alternative available!
