I’m mining industry, so the Minister getting the mining portfolio matters the most to me. Jamie Moses has an Ag degree, which is just fine for this portfolio: “Minister of Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources” which doesn’t include Ag – that’s a different portfolio – but Mining and Ag are related industries. “If it can’t be grown, it has to be mined.” Looking forward to seeing what they do with the industry.
I’ll actually miss Greg Nesbitt in that portfolio though – he was levelheaded, more centrist than most PCs, and I knew him well enough to have a beer when at industry networking events. As a small business owner, it’s nice to be able to have a beer with your minister. Not that I ever needed anything from him, but networking is such a core element to all businesses. I kind of hope he gets a critic position so he can keep coming haha. Well, I just sent an invite to Jamie for our next networking event so we’ll see…
Well, big changes! :)
As a Canadian, I am so proud that one of our provinces has elected a First Nations premier! As an Ontarian, the grass sure looks greener on the other side of our provincial border (Doug Ford 🤮)
