I was trying to reply a post at Costco@lemmy.world : https://lemmy.ca/post/1127818 , origins from https://lemmy.world/post/1020538

When I clicked “Reply”, the little circle on the button had been spinning and never finished.

I refreshed the page, and no surprise, my reply was not posted successfully.

Similar issues has been happening to me in the last few months, and now I finally wrote my issue report.

Is this issue due to our site or their site?

Edit: Closed this issue. See https://lemmy.ca/comment/4133550

Check the language setting of the post if you’re using the web-UI. If it’s set to English, then I think you have to also set the language setting of your reply to English.

I was planning to post the following: I just checked my Canada membership card, and it looks the same.

I wonder why the Canada version is English only instead of bilingual. Do they have a French version?

Thank you for your reply. I’m using the web-UI and I’ve already set it to English.

I tried again and confirmed that selecting English doesn’t help.

definitely something to do with the language in the community. When I tried to post in that community, with English, looking at the browser dev tools, it returned a response of Language not allowed. Have you tried with “Undetermined”?

When I clicked “Reply”, the little circle on the button had been spinning and never finished.

If I left the Language unselected, or manually set to Undetermined, then my post could went through.

Thank you for your help! I’ve reported this issue to their mod https://lemmy.ca/post/7582235 and I’ll mark this report as closed

yeah i think there’s an outstanding issue where the lemmy-ui doesn’t display the returned error messages in places. hopefully that’s fixed soon!

Ah shoot. I knew it had to do with the language setting… I encountered it a couple months back so I had forgotten exactly what it was.

Did they ban you, they tend to ban everyone being against their political agenda and their instance bans Don’t federate correctly. (you need to check their modlog)

Thanks. I checked the modlog, and found nothing related to me.
