Interesting timing…
i thought this died like 2 years ago
Was it ever actually alive?
What is dead may never die.
I actually loved the mechanics of this game, the gunplay and flying controls were so tight
I was hoping EA would greenlight the overhaul project, as I also really liked the flight and combat. I understand why they didn’t, but it still sucks to see this.
unfortunately there’s a nearly 0% chance that such a project would make the kind of money that EA wants from their games
The fuck? I never knew it was still running. I thought it went down as soon as the game bombed?
It is still running??
What? How the fuck it is still running?
Thought for sure I heard they were shutdown ages ago, guess not.
I’m likely in the minority here, but I really enjoyed my time with Anthem.
Since it was shitcanned months after release, there simply was not enough content to keep playing… But what was there always felt special.
Agreed. It felt like such a waste of potential.
I never understood the hate. The gameplay was incredible.
The biggest complaints pretty much boiled down to it not having literal infinite replayability. Like, you have to give it a minute.
I played Destiny at launch, and Anthem at launch was better.
There was quite a bit of trendy EA-hate. Some of the criticisms were well deserved though. The game was plagued with severe technical issues at launch: the multiplayer was especially busted.
Also the open world map feels much too small when compared to similar games. I remember the disappoint I felt when I realized “oh this is not the first zone, this is THE zone”.
Regardless, I also played Destiny (2) ; while I have to admit it is a better product, I enjoyed Anthem more.
To be fair, the playable space in Anthem was in three dimensions. Meanwhile Destiny’s maps are deceptively small, using tunnels that wind in on themselves and non-explorable space to feel larger.
Yeah, more zones would have been good, but none of that compares to having some of the tightest combat and traversal gameplay I’ve ever experienced.
Long enough to be legal to do so I’m sure. They probably wanted to shut them down the day they cancelled the overhaul update
Better shut it down before SKG games gets turned into a law 🙄
Don’t get me wrong, I hope it does, but realistically the EU will likely just ignore the petition by giving a quick no vote and continue with their lives.
Careful.
I dunno, it’d serve them right. We could blame SKG for giving us Anthem forever.
It would not just be applied to titles that are punlished already. I dont get why people think that? The eu would write a law that then has to be passed and then be apllied to new releases in x years. Not retroactivly to old games.
DreamWorks SKG?
Lmao. Ubi shuts down The Crew, but EA is like, “idk, give anthem another 6 months.”
The Crew(2014-2024) lasted a bit more than Anthem (2019-2026) . And Ubi seems to stick for longer with their flops compared to EA.
It was just a jab at the current Stop Killing Games stuff that is going on.
They were still alive?
I’m amazed they are still running
Oh no! Anyway…
