Welcome Envoys! Whether you’ve just heard of this all-new IP or are already deciphering its secrets, we hope this post serves to answer all questions you might have about Soulframe.

Expect this post to be continually updated as new details are revealed.

What is Soulframe?

Soulframe is a free-to-play open world action hybrid-MMORPG developed by Digital Extremes, best known for Warframe.
Soulframe focuses on themes of nature, restoration and exploration, inspired by works such as Princess Mononoke and The NeverEnding Story.

After you create and customize your very own Envoy, you will explore open hub worlds and procedurally generated cave networks and crevasses, be it on foot or on a mount. Soulframe’s cooperative player-vs-environment gameplay will feature slowly paced and melee-focused combat. You will join your soul with those of the omen beasts inhabiting the world, granting you amazing abilities.

What is the plot of Soulframe?

Most of what is currently known about the world and plot of Soulframe is speculative, taken from cryptic hints and poems released by Digital Extremes. Below is a short paraphrased summary:

The earth has been subdued by the Ode and its industries originating from castles floating high up in the sky, bleeding the surface dry of resources to the point of angering nature itself. You, an envoy, have been cast out from that society, returning to the earth’s surface and reconnecting with the spirits of nature, harnessing the souls of its omen beasts to drive back the invading force.

In case you are already familiar with Warframe: Soulframe is not set in the same universe, but you can expect to see some tie-ins.

How can I play Soulframe?

As of right now, you can reserve your Envoy title by visiting the homepage of Soulframe at https://soulframe.com/ and solving a small puzzle. A list of playable platforms has not been revealed yet, but it’s very likely you’ll be able to play Soulframe on PC.

Digital Extremes is interested in letting you get your hands on Soulframe as soon as possible. It has been stated that Digital Extremes die-hards will get to play a closed alpha version of Soulframe in 2023, as they are looking to gather feedback on development from the established Warframe playerbase.

Where can I learn more about Soulframe?

See here for a discussion on the first Soulframe-related stream, where additional technical and lore details have been revealed.

In case you already know Warframe for its devstreams: none of those are planned for a bit (as of 2022-08-22). Instead we will be getting “little featurettes” and other development updates where we will have the opportunity to provide feedback.

You can join our comfy community at !soulframe@dormi.zone and also follow the official Soulframe channels on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. There you can expect regular updates on development as the team moves forward.

More information on Soulframe will be posted here on !soulframe@dormi.zone as it is revealed. Expect this post to be updated regularly.

I’d like to thank several members of the Play Soulframe Discord, who helped me gather a good part of this information!

So listen well, Envoys of shame, and bear their souls within your frame.
