minus-squareStaccato@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up7arrow-down1·1 year agoA gallon of gas contains 33.7 kWh of energy. ICE sedans get on average 31.7 miles per gallon, which is 0.94 miles per kWh. Most electric SUVs get 3-4 miles per kWh depending on temperature and driving conditions. Electric sedans get 4-5 miles per kWh. You may generally dislike SUVs, but those Electric SUVs are still a far cry better than the gas sedans you’re giving a pass.

minus-squareStaccato@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·1 year agoShould I give it in terms of inverse Newtons, squared seconds per kilogram-meter? That would be a proper SI reduction for ya :P

minus-squarelazylion_ca@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoAmericans have actually been using metric for a long time. Well, their drug dealers have anyway.
minus-squareSemi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up7arrow-down3·1 year agoYes but they’re still as butt ugly as the rest of the SUVs they’re making. And they don’t handle well. And they’re fucking huge.
