After the UK left the EU, Brussels introduced the General Safety Regulation 2, which set out principles to make cars safer with the fitting of key components.

These included a pre-installed interface to allow a breathalyser locking system to be installed, as well as Event Data Recorders, which are similar to black boxes found in aircraft.

Of course they’re not going to crank the water to a boil immediately or we aren’t going to stay in the pot. They wouldn’t go through the effort to install these interfaces if they weren’t going to use them. Breathalyzer machines can already be installed in any car without this new legislation, which begs the question of why they would bother changing the rules if their goal isn’t to mandate the very thing added in the change.

As I said those people can already have an interlock device installed in their car without any special “interface” mandated into every car by the government. This is just the “it’s for the children” propaganda repackaged into something else.

Good! This will align us with the same planned EU rules.

FYI this is an msn repost of a GB News piece (the UK’s version of Fox News), so is extremely biased.
