    If they weren’t all $70k+ and the ugliest things on the road, maybe they’d do better.

      Rivians and lightning are doing just fine. If had nothing to do with being 70k. Those cars and trucks are straight up middle class buys that are popular.

        I wouldn’t say lightning are doing fine.

        They cut an entire shift with rolling layoffs (1 shift is laid off at a time and it cycles through all shifts) and inventory is building.

        There trying to respond to the problem to equal it out, but fine isn’t the word I’d use.

    That’s odd. Maybe if they spent some of their Super Bowl ad money on actually making the vehicles, they’d be in better shape.

      They were too busy cancelling and then un-cancelling their only EV that actually sold in reasonable quantities.

    It absolutely boggles the fucking mind that none of these genius CEOs have been pushing for a electric Ford maverick sized pickup after seeing the runaway success that has been. Doubly now seeing that sales of the lightning have plateaud. But I guess none of them want to be the first ones to prove the point that you can build a good reasonably sized useful electric car and make money on it if you are willing to take a hair less margin on each one.

      If they came out with an EV Maverick I’d be thrilled. I have a Model 3 right now mainly because I can’t afford an EV pickup truck that actually exists (don’t get me started on the Lightning’s “Pro” trim).

      GM always claimed they couldn’t make a mid-sized pickup because current regulations require the smaller vehicle to be efficient. This was their chance

      Trucks are on a 5 year life cycle. The lightning was first, followed up by PHEV 150. The rest will follow in a few years.

    They are just handing the industry over to the pure-play EV makers. Which is fine with me, they are the best at what they do.
