Nothing wrong with that. Collect what brings you joy. They kind of have a retro vibe.

He’s not a bad figure at all. He’s just finicky, and has some pretty glaring QC issues that vary widely from figure to figure. I got two and kludged them together into one very good figure.

Most folks are just scared of all of the clear plastic, but the more recent clear plastic seems a lot more durable than the plastic of old. I think the biggest complaint I have is just how disconnected his feet look in 'bot mode. It’s just weird looking. I mostly display mine in car mode because, let’s be honest, that Stingray* is the star of the show.
