That’s entirely fair! The stop sign and street definitely adds to the liminality in that one.
I’d argue they can be if they seem a bit more surreal or dream-like, one of the more popular liminal space images that I know of is a landscape but I also understand the argument against it.
It should probably also be noted that the impetus for the accusation is a misquote of him in a video where he said he approves of common sense gun control legislation to ensure that “The weapons of war which I carried, in war is the only place they will be” he did say it a little fast so the publications quoting him dropped the very necessary comma in that sentence and claimed he was saying he carried them during a war, neglecting the fact that with the comma, it makes sense grammatically, and without the comma it doesn’t at all, which is a mistake I doubt a teacher would make, even if they were a social studies teacher and not an english one.
Ah thank you! I tried finding the correct term for them and was kind of stuck between Arcus, Volutus, and Morning Glory clouds but all the images associated with them didn’t line up quiiite right, so looks like I went with the wrong name lol
Thanks! Wish I could remember exactly where but it was taken while I was on the road with some friends last year, based on its position in the camera roll most likely along Highway 287 south of Ennis, MT.
I appreciate it! They’re definitely some of my favorites as well, especially my dead mall shots.
Thanks! I started out doing liminal space photography mainly, I’ve since branched out but I’ve tried to bring over the general feel from my earlier work into my newer photos as well.
I’m not quite sure, I do know that it’s in the area around here so it very well could be.
It’s actually a set of a cabins in a reeeaally small town in western Missouri
I’m in complete agreement, I honestly really like the look of industrial buildings, urban decay, etc. I do a lot of nature and landscape photography but what got me started in the first place was Liminal Space and abandoned or worn down buildings. Just kind of reminds me of driving around the more run down parts of the city with my dad when I was younger. I have a picture I’m particularly fond of that I need to dig around for, of some vines and red leaves growing down over the open door of an abandoned garage that I need to upload.
Man I love that song, their first album doesn’t really get enough love compared to Good News or Lonesome Crowded West
My girlfriend thinks I’m crazy for liking brutalist architecture and long stretches of open highway, but I can’t help it, the concrete look and utilitarian designs just scratch an itch in my brain lol
Aha, being subscribed to my state’s conservation magazine does come in handy lol
I believe it’s actually Bush Honeysuckle but I’m not entirely certain.
Hey not bad! I love low angled shots like that.
Ahh okay that makes a little more sense, glad it worked!
Actually it’s Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, KS. It’s still a fully active mall but this was right as it was closing for the day last weekend while a friend and I were leaving the arcade.
