Agreed. They are being intentionally passive aggressive and they are trying to create discord in this community. They often say that they expect downvotes.
IMHO, if a user is repeatedly trying to get a rise from other users, then it’s time to go.
It’s like a little bother holding a finger to your face and saying “I’m not touching you.” They’re following the rules and not hitting their sibling, but know they’re being a pest.
I’ve handled users like this similarly in some of the communities I head up here. I try not to touch the content unless it is obvious misinformation and that violates instances rules. That said, if their content and or comments are clearly intended to create discord, pester, or pester in a passive aggressive manor, then they get the boot.
I wish we had some sort of sort filter that hid aggressively downvoted content and comments. That way the “knights of the new” could bury problematic content.
People don’t like the idea of mods having to censor users, but they also don’t want their feed full of downvoted posts or infighting.
So basically:
“Arnold Palmer is from here. I used to admire his dick in the shower.”
Sad thing is that this needs a quick response, and that’s not happening.

That’s all fine and dandy for ending debate about a stupid roadmap feature, but “disagree and commit” is a different story when you’re asking people to spend 3 hours unpaid in a car everyday.
Yeah, but most elections these days generally fall within the margins of polls. The historical trend data is generally doing a decent job of predicting future behavior.
IMHO, the bigger issue is that some races are so tight that they can’t be reliably predicted. The winner is buried within the margin of error.

Shows with a laugh track are basically telling you that the writers producers think certain jokes are funny. And fuck that noise.
Shows without a laugh track generally get laughs because an audience is having fun.
Depends on the poll. State by state polls absolutely sample likely voters (aka, people who plan to turn out). Moreover, they use past polling and election data to inflate or deflate turnout likelihood if a consistent gaps exists between what a cohort historically says and what a cohort historically does.
If he can keep steady poll numbers after an insurrection, my guess is that this won’t impact him at all.

I’ll speak as someone who has been in the creative space for 20 years.
Non-“making” work is a large part of any creative job. Sometimes it can be the bulk of the time spent doing the work. A professional isn’t just making; they’re often researching, synthesizing, pitching, negotiating, documenting, formatting, etc. All of that stuff is just as important.
I would check in with a community of professional writers and bring specific examples. An example type of job, the vague topic, the word count, the time spent writing, the time spent formatting in their tool, etc.
They can help to identify the gaps and problem-solve around it. Is the client underpaying? If so, how do you avoid that in the future and/ or negotiate a higher rate now? Or, is the writer spending too much time writing? If so, what are some techniques to expedite the craft?

Sounds like, from the reporting on this, they’re simply not funded to handle the asks to protect more and more people. People are working overtime, not getting paid for it, and quitting. The field is stretched thin and staffed by greener and greener people. Of course shit it going to fall through the cracks.
Same old story. People cut costs while also asking for more, then they wonder why they’re getting shittier service.
The NY Daily had a good follow up to this. They’re underfunded for what they’re currently being asked to do. Increased polarization and violent rhetoric is forcing them to guard more and more people. And their funding isn’t matching their increased span of guard duty. They’re working a lot of overtime, not getting paid for it, and quitting.
Also, since they got rolled into the DHS, the DHS has been taking money that should probably go to the Secret Service, and they’ve been using it for immigration policing.
Does golf count?
We’ve yet to define that. That said, the big reason for the move is because of community complaints around content regarding elections, political candidates, systems of government, foreign policy, etc.
