You should always wait a bit… in case of trouble Apple will pull / fix the update, so let others give their feedback first.
The trick is, 90% of all your messages are probably with the same 1-3 persons. (spouse, friend, family or whatever.)
So just install the Signal app for these 1-3 persons on their phones, and you already have most of your communication going via Signal 👌🏼

Exactly, I’m experiencing the same thing. Too much noise is coming through… my first instinct was to turn it off.
Hopefully they will finetune it in the next versions.

It’s not an account you create in a classical way using a server. It’s locally generated data wallet ( we need it for encryption and sync). We talk via on-boarding that your wallet will be synced, and that your data is encrypted only with the key generated on your machine. It’s for people who don’t want to mess with self-hosting. If you want you can make your build from GitHub, disconnect sync, or just self-host yours. This way our promise works.
Well… note that it’s end-to-end encrypted and works offline, though.
