A lot of local channels in predominately rural areas still sign off at midnight! They play the national anthem and go to test patterns! Saw that when I was visiting Kansas a few yrs ago!
I don’t know… I find it very easy to “not love” Grey Herons, as the only reason they land is to eat every other creature in my pond. Fish? Oh yeah. Frogs? Love 'em. Baby Ducks? Delicacy. Baby Turtles? Eat’em like Skittles.
I really don’t see any redeeming qualities in Herons. They devour all life that fits down the hatch. There’s never been a danger of fish and baby ducks taking over the earth.
But aside from personal prejudices, great picture!

1·10 months agoI think airplanes should have one of those measuring sticks at the door like Disneyland has at the ride entrances. “If you aren’t THIS tall, you can’t take this ride!”

Yeah, they do that to your drone sometimes… I had one join up with my RC Glider while riding a thermal soaring in lazy circles, last summer! Unlike most #drones, my glider has a wing span that rivals the Eagle’s own, so perhaps he was content with just getting a good look. Also the glider doesn’t sound like an angry bee-hive, nor does it stop and face an approaching bird as if to confront it.
