Funding UNRWA is the primary factor perpetuating this conflict. I agree that aid should come, ideally from some neutral unbiased side, but funding UNRWA is the opposite of an investment in peace
Wouldn’t be surprised if Putin’s Russians executed Ukrainian POWs and then started looking for alibi opportunities
I wonder if the nonunion workers who didn’t get a raise (I assume) will endorse Trump
I never lived in LA and I have an LA Times subscriptions. As far as I can tell, it is still provides quality journalism, despite some questionable decision making. I keep supporting it primarily because I feel like if it goes under then it will leave a big news void on the west coast. I try to support local media in addition to some of the big brands
A reminder to support your local news and investigative journalism
“California Department of Public Health order allows return-to-work and and return-to-school in cases that have no fever for 24 hours, with mild and improving symptoms” but “…emphasizes the potential infectious period remains at two days before symptoms began or testing positive, through the next 10 days”
Do you want outbreaks? Because this is how you get outbreaks!
Keep the Bradleys coming
“in the occupied Haifa Bay…”
The real news story is that the Haifa Bay is occupied

Thanks! Seems close enough. I would still take anything coming out of Channel 14 with a grain of salt. It is considered to be Bibi’s propoganda channel 🤷
I tried, but failed, to find the poll Loewenstein referred to when he was quoted saying: “There was a poll just this week that found 70-80 percent of Israeli Jews support…", regarding what the title claims. Please share if you have it, I find it hard to believe this poll exists.
Well that changes everything
Where’s the antitrust suit when you need it, and how long before the the three mentioned companies start merging?
Looks fantastic
Ordered it a couple of days ago! I’m generally interested in the ancient biblical history and archeology so it seemed like a must read
Crazy. This is what happens when when antitrust laws are not being enforced (Instagram acquisition) and a tech monopoly can hold users as hostages: “(In a Supplemental Privacy Policy, Meta explains: “You may deactivate your Threads profile at any time, but your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account.”"
I consider email (and snail mail) a significantly more essential service than social media. Email service providers starting to block each other is much more likely to have a negative effect on my life than being disconnected from some friends, influencers or current news
I think it is because on Mastodon favorites don’t mean much besides showing some appreciation for the post. On the other hand, the Twitter algorithm would make posts with more likes more visible, but not as much as retweeting. So if you want to make a Mastodon post more visible you have to boost it
It’s not too late to do your job, FTC
