Got to stage 120 with a Eevee, mudkip, fuecoco starters, and picked up azumarill, ice cream cone and jump lift otw.

Hopip gets stun spore, sleep spore, synthesis and bullet seed making it a borderline must catch to make catching Mons easy af and it’s a hard hitter in its own right.

Eevee is prob the best starter tied w Meowth, as Eevee can get adaptive as an ability which makes normal moves 2x while Meowth can get technician for boosted fake outs on every switch in, but they both cost 4 tokens and Eevee can go either Espeon for a fast psychic special attack sweeper, or The trans one for pixilate boosted normal->fairy type moves.

Mudkip is the best starter Pokemon, as it quickly learns rock smash and rock throw for probably the best overall early game type coverage, especially the fighting type rock smash for all the normal types in the beginning. Swampert also is nutty and if you can get a Memory Mushroom you can learn Surf and Earthquake plus it learns rock slide naturally.

Fuecoco was the best coverage choice, being a nice fire ghost type with dark type moves as well to cover the weaknesses the rest of your team can’t get to.
