Most people don’t really respect the patron model of arts funding anymore. The more prominent view is: if you can’t make money as an artist, you’ve failed and should quit. The market is seen as the ultimate arbiter of value. Why mess with it?

I don’t know if it helped me mask better, but it made neurotypical behavior seem less confusing and more predictable.

I wish tech companies would do this more. Put a warning or label on it if you have to, but interacting with that early version of the Bing chatbot was the most fun I had with tech in awhile. You don’t have to install a ton of guardrails on everything before it goes out to the public.
This is all on the open web. If they find it useful to create surveillance profiles of fediverse users they will do so, whether we defederate or not. That’s the current price of being on the internet.
