IIRC (used to live in Louisiana), after the BP oil spill, oil execs were offering shit tons of money for people to take them to and from the spill site. A lot of fishermen (who could no longer fish) told them to fuck off. The offer was on the table, and I remember a bunch of suburban chuds taking out loans to buy boats so that they could do it.
