@ajsadauskas @sydneytrains I was amused but not surprised on a recent trip to the US to hear the announcement on the aeroplane as “de-plane” instead of “disembark” or “alight”. I suppose you have to meet people where they are with language.

@SituationCake I gave up on buying fruit and veges at Woolies a couple years ago when they added the cameras. I bring my own fruit/vege bags, which are white cotton. I refuse to use plastic bags. Cameras couldn’t see the contents and locked the check-out every time. It was a good reason to switch to the independent fruit and vegetable shop next door, which I should have been using all along.
@Nath @ajsadauskas I live in Perth. I flew to Melbourne once with family to watch the Australian Open tennis. I’ve flown to Brisbane and Sydney a few times to watch concerts from international acts that don’t visit Perth. Lots going on over east in the big cities. Enjoy it.

The Victorian Govt has its SEO game on. Holy shit.
@LovesTha @fuck_cars Do you want to be allowed to ride this thing on footpaths and bike paths like an e-bike? I hope not. Do you want to ride on the road at 50kmh? Great, get a 50cc/electric moped and pay insurance and registration and have a licence. Want to go faster? Get a motorbike. Each of these categories already exist. You can’t have a free-to-register uninsured 60kmh powered bike on the bike path for good reason.
@obinice @ajsadauskas I was reading Japanese city real estate listings the other day and every single one of them lists the walking distance to the nearest train station (and the name of the station) at the top of the list. It’s literally the most important thing.
@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars I can walk to all of these under 15 minutes except five of them that are all near the bottom of the list.
@CameronDev On gumtree I generally stop every text conversation after the first two or three messages with “I don’t have time to exchange texts, and I have two other people texting me. Just call me if you’re serious. My number is XX”. About 5% of people call and they’re always polite genuine buyers/sellers. I don’t bother with email or messages with anonymous people when it comes to discussing sales and transactions.
