The Rosetta Stone for spotting a Welsh accent is: “I’m not bein’ funny but like…”

    I’m not bein’ funny but like, I feel that would be a mis-leasing Rosetta Stone, because I’ve heard that verbal tic from people all over.

        I’ll try … Oh yeah. I’ve mostly heard in some southern accent I think.

        I’ve a horrible feeling though, that we’ve now got the point of saying the Rosetta Stone for a Welsh accent is … if it’s in a Welsh accent.

          Chicago is a long way from Britain. I’m sure that’s the best I can do.
          I doubt you can tell the difference between an Indiana accent and a Missouri accent. I know I can’t.

      It is a long-standing custom but I doubt it is outmoded.
      I’ve been hearing it for years and I like it.

      I like the mindset it’s coming from.

    Oh, I didn’t know that.

    It threw me when I first heard it. Present and future tense all in the same sentence!
