Chicago is a long way from Britain. I’m sure that’s the best I can do.
I doubt you can tell the difference between an Indiana accent and a Missouri accent. I know I can’t.
Cheers
Write it out. Work out stuff from the brain. I see things more clearly if I step back and take a look at them. making them concrete I see things I hadn’t realized before. Write things down. Take notes on life like it’s a chemistry class.

Are you saying it in a Welsh accent when you read it off the page?
It is a long-standing custom but I doubt it is outmoded.
I’ve been hearing it for years and I like it.
I like the mindset it’s coming from.
There are not many chipper, upbeat accents in Britain so I say “I’m not being funny, but like…” in a Welsh accent and that makes the distinction in my mind between Geordie, Welsh, a few other buoyant accents.
Hence: the Rosetta Stone.
Groovy.
