If this persons body is resorting to storing fat in his palms I’m worried about what the rest of them looks like
Could have just linked to people of Walmart.
Is that a prototype of the Bibendum man?
It is!
Huh, neat! I was only half serious.
Bulbous
To be fair, those are the worst controllers ever paired with a game console. My hands are smaller than this, but they still hate the controls.
I’ve heard that a lot but I have fairly large hands myself and really like the feel of them. I even have a set of joycons paired to my pc for shortcuts while I work with a stylus. Just don’t get how people have so much trouble with them.
Edit: I guess my thumbs have a stutter, and there’s no sense in a free advert for a service I wish had better alternatives.
I like them when they’re off the switch but not when they’re on it.
Yes. Super comfortable just sitting holding the controllers, but my hands ache if I use them attached to the switch.
I like using the Switch, but I can’t use it for longer than an hour due to the Joy-Con causing cramps. I’m definitely going to replace them with a third party controller.
Agreed. The triggers are far too small. The buttons are not in intuitive places and they are not very responsive. I try and play for Zelda, but wish I could pair a PS5 controller.
wish I could pair a PS5 controller.
You can! I use a Mayflash Magic-NS for this. I got a few and plugged them into a USB hub on my dock and my friends have been able to use their own comfortable controllers they use for their pc games on my switch. been a big hit for smash bros. ps4/ps5 controllers support gyro inputs fine too. you can even configure it to switch button orders/layouts and stuff for you so you don’t get xbox/nintendo xyab/yxba glyph/button conflicts, if you need. big fan of them overall. they work on other systems and controllers too, you can pair joycons to your PC with it (shows up as Xbox controller), they’re like universal “controller language” translators.
Oh this is entirely too much work lol I PC game 99 percent of the time. The Switch is just for Zelda. But thanks for the info!
Get an 8bitdo pro 2 controller. They have Xbox and PS styles. Good price, durable, easily rechargeable. And it also works with PCs.
Also: no drift.
Also: no drift.
I really hate how Nintendo doubled down on saying drift wasn’t a real problem with their original joycons. Two out of two original left joycons got severe drift after little use. To make matters worse, the tiny L/R buttons when they’re unattached stopped working, so no more Super Mario Party without some cumbersome button remapping.
I don’t think they’re problematic, but as a slightly above average height American male, I feel like my hands skew towards the smaller side of average which makes a difference. I have no problem with the joycons attached to the console, and I’m also a big fan of the pro controller. A friend of mine who is notably much taller bought me pro-like third party joycons for Christmas and they hurt my hands to use in contrast to the OG that don’t bother me at all.
Is that a thumb or a turkey drumstick?
Turkey thumbstick?
Thumb drum?
Turkey stick?
Dumb thumb drum?
Turthumbdumbdrum?
It’s a thumb that sticks drums to turkeys.
I can’t tell if this pic should be labeled nsfw or not.
NSFL
absolute sledgehammer hands
I’m honestly concerned he has an untreated medical condition. I don’t think even extreme obesity should do this, right?
Yeah nah, it’s like his hand is very swollen.
There are a lot of medical conditions that can cause that. It’s often very painful and limits the movement of the fingers.
Diabeetus
Severe obesity?
Just American.
More like Ankylosaurus-tail-hammer hands. Their tail hammers were mostly fatty deposits.
escort
bouncer
he goes by many names
Is he playing it with his ass?
I thought that hand was someone’s ass for a while.
I think the hunt is over. We found the monster.
The real monsters were the friends we made along the way
New hominid species just dropped.
Understated but asbolutely effective lmao
I don’t know why people complain about the Joycons (other than stick drift). They’re literally the exact same configuration the DS and 3DS have had since 2005 and everyone loves those systems.
I havent touched my 3DSXL in 2 years cause it hurts my hands to play anything on it for more than 15 minutes, cause its so small and i have to scrunch my hands up so tight to be able to hit buttons.
GameBoy Micro or Death.
Joycons don’t lie flat, ds’s do.
Mine fucking disconnect all the time, even if connected to the console directly. Hardware quality is dumpster tier. Source: I have 3 sets now in the dumpster
I recently bought a used switch from eBay which didn’t come with Joy-Cons as a gift for someone else. Took my OLED’s Joy-Cons and popped them on to test while I was waiting for the new Joy-Cons to arrive…
Well little did I know there was something sticky that had gotten on the contacts of this used switch, which then transferred to the Joy-Cons. I of course plugged them back into my OLED trying to figure out what was going on and transferred enough of whatever it was to my OLED to start causing problems as well.
Long story short it doesn’t take much to break that contact.
If you have an original switch and the right tools to open it up (needs a tri-wing screw driver), it is pretty easy to open it up, remove the contacts from the rail and thoroughly clean them. Worked perfectly to get the used switch back to brand new.
Of course don’t forget to do the same on the contacts of the Joy-Cons They need the same tri-wing screwdriver to open.
The OLED is a bit more of a PITA to get the rails out, so if you have an OLED or don’t have the tools to open your original you can make a makeshift cleaner like this person did (sorry about the reddit link). Joy-Con Rail Contact Cleaning Tool
I used a much smaller cable tie so that I could fit some isopropyl dipped gauze around the tip to get into the contacts (power off your switch entirely first!!!).
Careful on the Joy-Cons if you try to use something like that tool. The Joy-Cons are the spring side of the contact so you could easily bend them and make things worse.
If you have problems with stick drift and feel comfortable opening them up, you can get replacement sticks on eBay for $5-6 a piece.
It’s him! Biscuit-dough-hands man!
Lana is that you?
The big problem I have with joycons is my big, meaty hands. Makes it slightly harder for me to comfortably hold those small controllers when they’re not connected to the switch itself. I’ve totally been thinking of just going down to the nearby game shop one day and getting a controller, if I ever get more switch games to make the investment worthwhile.
This is why I got some grips when I don’t have it docked and a pro controller. If you ever do use it more, it’s definitely worth it.
First, I bought one of the Nintendo pro controllers day one with my Switch, and I love it. Secondly, I never liked playing with it mobile because it’s difficult to play with larger hands, but I just recently discovered a grip that the switch slides into giving you more meat to hold on to making it much easier for me to play on the go… was about $17 on amazon.
They make N64 and GameCube compatible controllers for the Switch.
They are sadly not universal to every game though
