I mean you did better than iOS more or less
I did consider going the JPEG route but for some reason I think the weird blurry, color-banded aesthetic of GIF (which is what I trying to convey, along with some desaturation of color) fits it better
And I think the close-up portrait of our subject and the far-away seeming background really adds to the surrealness which is why I chose to leave it in
Although, that JPEG artifacting is giving me early 2000s webcam vibes which I like

something like this? I couldn’t abuse the save as gif function to the same degree as the jpeg one but i could use a color quantize filter which is similar I think.

I used a similar effect in mine but left out the dithering at the time but that may have been a mistake
