The comic is very very different and absolutely worth your time. The movie is more or less just another boring “what if superman but bad” take on the paradigm with the aesthetic of the ussr. The comic has a much more sympathetic view not just of it’s version of Superman but indeed of the USSR and of Stalin.

Basically halfway through the story: communism wins due to president luthor having to implement a planned economy to keep the united states afloat. The supreme irony is that by the time the final conflict comes to a head it isn’t a battle between socialism and capitalism but rather socialism with Superman characteristics versus socialism with Luthor characteristics. - Soldier Boy being captured by the Soviets
Maybe 3 if you count the Pol Pot-esque “revolutionary” anti-colonial army that killed Kimiko’s family before grooming her into a soldier, but it was never stated what they believed.
