“I’m a Conservative,” he says. “The Tories are the people who can bring the money from London.”
Said by a man handing out food from a shopping trolley to his impoverished neighbours, 14 years into Tory rule…
Pressumably the money is sitting waiting to go on the first HS2 train to Manchester…
Between showers a queue has formed outside one of Rochdale’s soup kitchens, in Drake Street, and Muhammad Aziz has a shopping trolley of food collected from local businesses and families to give away, offering bread, muffins and cakes to people. “I do this every day,” he said. “Rochdale has a lot of deprivation and a lot of poverty. We’re trying to make Rochdale better again, help people back on their feet.” And how will he vote? “I’m a Conservative,” he says. “The Tories are the people who can bring the money from London.”
Huh.
“The Tories are the people who can bring the money from London.”
They can, they absolutely never will to Rochdale though
Rochdale is a shithole, but deserves better.
A general election is coming, I hope Rochdale gets better options soon.
That said, I can’t help but feel situations like these are signs of greater problems with our democracy.
I though George Galloway was a convicted sex offender?!?!
I dunno if cosplaying as a cat is strictly illegal.
