Setting the alarm on my cell phone to make a ticking clock sound and the old timey clacking bell alarm, to go off right as they’re about to go through my bag as a bit…

I’m having flashbacks to the months after Sept 11, 2001… digging through the trunk of a small car while a pair of somebody’s grandmas were forced to stand outside it, opening each and every tote of yarn packed in the trunk (as they were going to a yarn/knitting convention) because a major interstate highway ran through a US Army post and somebody decided that the post had to be “closed” and all traffic randomly searched. The entire time, everybody working that particular gate just feeling like the biggest pieces of shit.

On the flipside… mouthy Officers/NCO who thought the being in a hurry made them more special than the other 300 cars in line could be directed to the “search/harrassment” lane. They forget that even a Private is GOD when they work the gate…

The only remotely good thing that could come out of this if the national guard troops help you with everyday things, but I’m assuming they have 0 knowledge on directions and schedules and are just told to stand there with M4s for 8 hours?

Because in most countries, even though cops will beat you and surveil crowded areas, they’ll also have SOME kind of knowledge on where to go.
