This is a sub about cars, not trolling vaguely disguised as social commentary.
I’m just having some fun with a meme phrase. It is exaggerated, melodramatic language used in this case to make a low-stakes point that cars looked cooler from about 1982 to 1987 than they do today. Hopefully, some fellow travelers might also pick up on the implication that the pickup trucks are too big these days. Take a chill pill.

You posted this like 7 times and it was downvoted each time, people called you out on your title and you claimed it was a joke and told them to report you. If you are gonna troll people at least own it, nothing sadder than a troll back-peddling.

I’m just sharing a nice photo I took last weekend of a fifth gen Elco. If you don’t like it that’s fine, but if you think I’m trolling then you need to take a break from online.
No one downvoted your photo, it was your title people called out, but sure keep pretending that’s not the case.

I haven’t changed my position at all so how am I backpedaling? I thought the title was funny, and I still like it, but some people took it the wrong way and that’s okay. You have no basis to say I have done anything besides what I said I did, so I don’t know what your problem is.

I made my position very clear, even in my first comment. You on the other hand dredged up my week old message just to argue with someone… Yet I am the one with the problem.
My cross posts have also received upvotes. I’m glad some people enjoyed it. I don’t think I’ve been arguing with anyone. Some people have been rude, but for my part I’ve just been explaining how it’s just baffling to me that anyone thinks that an earnest political point is being made by the phrase “we used to be a country” as a caption to a photo of a fifth generation El Camino. I don’t think our dialogue even rises to the level of an argument because you haven’t raised any cogent points.
