Fuck goddammit this is the worst thing for people with imposter syndrome to see. This is fucking insidious. Hilarious but insidious.
I would be so devastated if I told a coworker that I had imposter syndrome and they were like, “wait, you think that we think you’re good at your job?”
Well that’s a big relief
My boss told me himself that I probably have impostor syndrome. Ever since then, I lose sleep wondering how much he regrets saying that. By now, he surely realises that I actually am an impostor, but our labour laws are too good and he can’t fire me.
All that makes it so much funnier, still laughing as I’m typing this
I don’t have ADHD, but damn this strikes close to home

Not just ADHD folk. I’ve had programmers like that, swinging from “I can’t do it” to “I don’t need to test that”.
I am in this picture and I don’t like it
You can do it, but you also need to test it all.
Gaslighting doesn’t exist and you’re going crazy. /s
God, that quote is forever my all time favorite. Never fails to make me laugh. Every once in a while I gaslight a friend, but like absurdly and obviously. Within a few minutes they ask, “wait, are you gaslighting me?!” And I respond with that quote, to their sighs and chuckles.
I certainly am not. Is there a term for someone who has impostor syndrome but deep inside is actually not good enough? lmao
An impostor, lol
It’s where the term for the syndrome comes from.
A paradox.
