I definitely feel different to how I did last week.

I guess, more confident, or maybe sure of myself?

It’s not surprising in a way, but I didn’t notice what I lost now that I have it back.

You rock gibsy. I went on a job hunt last year and got knocked back or ignored by every application I sent. It knocked my self esteem and confidence really hard. You went to soooo fucking many interviews, and if your experience is anything like mine, probably sent in 10-20x more applications. I can’t imagine going through that and still putting on a brave face and going into interviews with a positive outlook. To be completely honest, I think I would’ve shrivelled up and died.

You’re a hell of a lot stronger than you realise, and if you were that confident with all of those rejections, you must be easily the most confident person on the planet ordinarily

Edit: also, I really really appreciate all of the comments and ideas you’ve left when I’ve shared what’s been happening here. I hope that my bad days haven’t brought your mood down, you deserve to celebrate and enjoy the moment

I think in light of recent events you’re probably super happy and relieved as well.

You’ve been through a lot with the emotional roller coaster and to come out of it on the other side is of great relief.

My sky pretty has a crane

Now let me explain what this crane is doing.

It is building an exclusive 55yo and older community called st. clare in kew. Shit out of luck if you’re 54 but the joke is on them because the grand kids will visit and you’re back at square 1.

Sooooo I got the call. It’s sounds promising. I won’t go into too much details because it’s early stages but it is a potential writing collaboration idea I had and they are receptive to the idea.

They’re gonna talk to their people and see if and what can be done and we can work from there. I’m hopeful. It’s going to be so cool if it comes to fruition.

I’ve been informed that it’s Vegas’ 10th birthday on Saturday! I need to figure out what to get him. Think I’ll hit up the butcher but I might have to wait until Saturday to do it so it doesn’t spoil the surprise, because he’ll smell it. I’ll swing by the big pet shop too and see if I can find something he might like.

Edit: Oh it’s also my nanna’s 98th birthday tomorrow. I don’t think she wants anything from the butcher.

Here’s an odd one (to me at least).

P’s are going to a funeral tm and everyone has to chip in a $fiddy.

Extremely wealthy family. I’ve never heard of that before. Is that a thing now?

I understand they’re expensive but just never seen that before.

Extremely wealthy and they’re insisting people chip in for a funeral? That’s extremely tacky.

I’ve heard of people asking for donations to a charity rather than flowers, but never for the cost of the funeral.

Very odd, I’ve been to a lot of funerals and never have been asked to chip in.

It’s up to the family to organise and decide what to do with the funeral and it’s their responsibility to finance it and everyone’s else role is to pay respects or to celebrate their life.

The only time where I might have to was when they organised a after lunch or something but I didn’t go so no idea if that ended up being split.

Me either - sounds dodgy to me. Is the funeral going to be catered??? If so, why??? Usually funeral expenses are covered by the executor of the deceased’s Will as a first charge on the estate. The whole “after payment of funeral expenses and just dues and taxes” bit that nearly every Will starts off with.
Sounds like the beneficiaries of the estate want to maximise their slice of the pie to me.

I’m a social caffeine consumer. It doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on me and I carry on just as tired as I was before. I don’t really drink it on my own, but I do like the taste of a good mocha so if I go for coffee with anyone I’ll always get one.

Unless it’s summer, then I’m getting me an OJ and there’s nothing anyone can do about it

My partner always gets a mocha, loves them. I always get a cappuccino.

But the baristas will ALWAYS give ME the mocha, and my partner the cappuccino. Then we swap, in front of them lol.

Just a funny observation of unconcious bias lol

One of my workers at the last place would always have his McDonald’s order fucked up. My favourite time is the time he ordered a large coffee frappe with no cream and those chicken salt shakey chips they were doing. He ended up with a medium chocolate frappe with no drizzle and still cream and spicy chilli flavoured shaker chips. I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it happen right there with my own eyes. I got a large coke Zero and a regular chips and my order was fine. They also managed to spill half the frappe down the outside of the cup and didn’t give any napkins. It was hilarious

He wasn’t rude or anything either, he said hello, please, and thank you

    Anti-gratitude thread 🤬

Woke up at 6 and fell back asleep, so didn’t make the gym class and now I don’t have time to go today.

Also kept listening to a podcast last night beyond the sleep timer because I got invested, only to wake up to find the rest of the podcast was played whilst I slept.

Today I have a day off. The Minipeelers have been sitting around all school holidays doing nothing and will want to do something today, something big. I’ve been working pretty hard and just want to put my feet up and do nothing and rest. I can anticipate what will happen when Miniest awakes from her royal slumber!

Still being sick, day 5 and no real improvement yet. So hard to get out of bed and do work when my body wants to rest. Glad it’s not Covid though, I’m testing negative. So I have anti-gratitude and gratitude at the same time.

My ex tooth hurts. The paracetamol/ibuprofin combo works fine as a painkiller, but because of the limits you can take in a day I can’t take it often enough to remain pain free. So the next few hours are going to be painful so that I can take more later so I’ll be able to sleep tonight ☹️

I had a sleepless night and my eyes feel sore from it. I tried to listen to a podcast as well but ended listening to it instead of falling asleep to it.

Im trying not to sleep or have a nap so I can get my internal clock back to relative normalcy.

      I hate sleepless nights.
