Made in response to South Korean politician links rising male suicides to women, though sadly could apply to far too many stories and situations we hear about/experience.
Even without this context, I have seen an unfortunate amount of right wingers blaming feminism for things.
Mental gymnastics.
Oh yeah, this shit is absolutely everywhere. Because it’s easier to project and seek victimhood than it is to face up to the reality of being an active part of the problem, or worse, give up the privileges the patriarchy provides (even though in the grand scheme of things, everyone in society would be better off without it, but self centeredness is part of the indoctrination).
It really is sad that women are expected to fix everything.
Perhaps the patriarchy’s greatest achievement is convincing women that men in general are the source of all of their problems instead of the handful of men who happen to own banks and fortune 500 companies, and thus convincing half the proletariat to turn against the other half instead of against the system
The rapists and the men who kill their current or previous partners due to their entitlement are usually no bankers.
Allow me to revise that statement.
One of the patriarchy’s achievements is convincing a small handful of men that they deserve women, but its greatest one is convincing women that not only do all men believe they deserve women, but that the reason for this is biological.
This just reads as “not all men” which while not wrong, also just gives people an easy out. If you have a cake divided in ten pieces, and nine of those pieces are fine, but one is laced with a lethal poison, no one that’s well informed and wishes to live is going to risk eating that cake.
Your average man might not be an abusive or violent person, but how do you tell the difference? Further, there’s a lot of “good” men out there that are perfectly okay with not checking the behaviour of their friends, allowing toxic behaviour to perpetuate when they are in one of the best positions to put their foot down and say that they’re not okay with it. In so doing, while they personally might not be engaging in it, they’re still facilitating the perpetuation of it.
Not all men, perhaps, but we as a society, including all men have a repsonsibility to break down this system.
Nice strawman you got there.
Yeah it’s still not working mate
Who birthed, and raised every single one of those rapists and killers?
It’s uncommon for men to give birth, so I’m guessing you’re saying that single mothers are the problem? Or does the father also raise their children, thus also get some culpability here? It’s almost like the problem is wide-spread and systematic.

Haha, oh no whatever shall I do? I can scarce keep on living knowing I won’t be able to interact with you. Such a crushing loss. 😢
If you are going to blame women for all evils in the world, please do it explicitly so we can block you.
And you have the gall to chastize some user for their choice of instance…
Is that what you think I meant, shame.
On you, for blaming women for rapists.
I did no such thing, so kindly fuck off.
You said, verbatim:
Who birthed, and raised every single one of those rapists and killers?
In what planet that’s not blaming women for the rapists and killers?
Context?
gestures at everything
Someone in South Korea just made a statement that make suicides, especially those under 30, are rising as a result of being unable to secure a relationship, which is true.
He then goes on to blame women and feminism for that, which is… dumb.
Just a guess here, but personally I blame the economy and the rise of online dating/social media for my current lack of a partner. It’s partially by choice, I’m not financially stable enough to do the things I want to do with a partner. But I have broken down and tried online dating as there is a chance that my partner could help me become financially stable. That did not work out, and now I’m not entirely sure how to go about getting a partner because in my small town no one really goes outside except crackheads because it’s dangerous because crackheads.
Being unable to secure a relationship is probably too specific, more just the loneliness epidemic in general. I guess it’s less “being single” and more “utterly given up any hope of making romantic and/or intimate connections connections with another human being”. One of those is a lot more suicide inducing than the other.
