I love it. Even if you can’t flip your Red State, having your votes means Harris can point to a broad spectrum of support that extends even into deep red places, and you never know. It might just be your vote that flips a city or county seat blue and makes it less likely that you and those around you get caught up in the Reich-Wing attempted coup.

It’s always your vote that flipped the seat; everyone who voted after you just showed up as backup.

I’m at least one vote in Florida against team evil and for team Harris…ignore my name, it was from a time when Palin was a threat. Wow life was innocent

It seems like so far ago. And it reminds me I am not a kitten anymore!

You want innocent? Mid 90s, when the worst thing we had to worry about was a blowjob in the Oval Office. Bill getting his knob waxed seems like another whole lifetime!

Yep, plus it helps build momentum for long term change and flips in the future if nothing else. Like Georgia was a solidly red state for a long time until it ended up gaining enough steam to flip

It went from R+11 in 2000 to R+5 in 2008 to D+0.2 in 2020. If every dem voter sat home in the time between, there would have been no chance for that trend to start and there to any serious energy put into flipping it

Conversely, it’s also why voting even in solid blue states still matters to ensure they stay solidly blue

Even TX needed only 5% more registered voters to go blue in 2016 and even less than that in 2020. Every vote counts!

Polls in TX open Oct 21-Nov 1, with one final day of voting on Nov 5. Polls are open at least 9 hours the first week and at least 12 hours during the second week and final day of voting (typically 7AM-7PM during weekdays, though polling stations may differ)

Everything you need to know about the TX elections including voter registration, ballot by mail, dates, polling locations/hours, etc can be found here
