I’m glad I jumped off the Nintendo train, selling my Nintendo Switch when I bought the Steam Deck.

It’s my personal opinion that they’re beating around the bush too much trying to get money from customers using the fans addiction for their products / trademarks.

I enjoyed some of their games and I still do (through emulation though), but I lost all the interest in the company.

    @[email protected] There were a few games I really enjoyed playing on the switch but I never used it as much as I hoped I would.

    As you say, if you’re not into the Nintendo fan base (Mario, etc) or Japanese RPGs, it gets boring fairly quickly.

    So much shovelware as well.

    There were some amazing ports that I was surprised the Switch could even do such as Doom and Alien: Isolation but my grey lite spent more time in a draw than out.

    @[email protected] My Switch was mainly an Animal Crossing device. When I (finally) lost interest it started collecting dust.

    I ran thru Link’s Awakening and it’s pretty sad that it stutters and has frame rate drops on original hardware.

    Nintendo just doesn’t seem to be adapting to the times very well and the nostalgia driven fans seem to be all that’s propping them up anymore.

    I just noticed in my local Target the Switch section took over one whole additional side of the aisle. It reduced the Xbox section by a lot. While Nintendo is in a slump lately, it’s probably to gear up for the next generation. I really don’t know what you are talking about other than missing these things.

    Yesterday a new music app dropped for NSO subscribers. Is it what everyone wants, no. Is it cool, yep. Will it have lasting appeal, I don’t know. It’s better than the alarm clock at least!
