Now is the time to narrow my view, focus in on my own world, school, partner, Mickey, coffee, chocolate, beer. I don’t want to know about the world anymore, not for a while. I can’t let this drag my mood down. I have good things in my life idc about anything else lol

I’m going to try to do the same as well.

Work, coffee, podcasts, bit of shopping, streaming shows and movies and video games.

Yes. Keep making choices that make your life and the lives of your loved ones and those around you stronger and better.

Nah. It’ll be alright. We don’t generally go backwards. We go at a snails pace forward unless it’s a pay rise for pollies then it’s all speed ahead.

        We don’t generally go backwards.

This is generally true. Except for the destruction of medicare, loss of local manufacturing industry, no taxation on our mineral resources, expensive and half useless universities and no consequences for government corruption

Was pretty fucked up how close the votes were on this matter in South Australia recently - I mean what the fuck, surely that isn’t representative of how Australians really view the matter, but I realise more and more how out of touch I am

I really ought to look into a hysterectomy. I don’t want kids anyway, but this is certainly an incentive to advocate better for myself lol

World news aside, I’ve finished my first day at the new job. I think I need to get past induction and do some actual work, and start working from home, before I can decide if this was the right choice.

I think it will be. I need to remember how shit my old work was, even before things for really bad. Once I get started I won’t wish I got things right in the old role, because even when things were working, they were just barely, and things were still shit

    US election comments

I’m very dismayed by the US election result. I wouldn’t have been shocked at a trump win, I thought it would be close so was a possibility. But was not mentally prepared for a such a large margin. So many Americans want this? I would like to think they didn’t understand what they were really voting for. I have a sinking feeling thinking about what the next four years might have ahead both for Americans, and globally for places like Ukraine and the Middle East.

It’s apparently going to weaken the Australian economy too? Which is fun.

I want to rage and call Americans stupid, and to be fair a lot of them did buy in to the hate and spin.

But I think there was also a lot of gerrymandering and ratfuckery at play. And apparently voting in America works differently to Australia. Can’t imagine being a minority in America right now.

I really hope this doesn’t hasten the Americanisation of Australia or import more crazy bullshit

I don’t think so. The working class here are more compliant and don’t think in terms of rights like Americans do. Thus Australians have fewer resentments and less anger than Americans. They don’t need to bring in full strength fascism here to crush the working class and labour movement.

It will be more like English class oppression.

So I put in a request to cancel my group fitness membership after the next billing. Will check out the local council gym and also another one to try and get my mum to come along.

My cat’s heart isn’t working well and he doesn’t have a great prognosis, but he’s well and happy in himself and I’m focusing on that. We’ll be ok.

I’ve just ordered takeaway for the first time in yonks. Fried goodness is now on the way to me and in the meantime I’ve poured a glass of wine. I will enjoy it and not wallow.

And I’m putting my fingers in my ears and ignoring the news out of the US.

I want to buy more seeds and garden stuff but the money… the limited number of pots and the invasive grass… the fact that it might get stolen or the garden destroyed/raided…

    :(

I’m not really able to do that without exacerbating mould issues or taking up room I can’t afford, but maybe I can work something out.

Thanks. I’m not actually very skilled, the plants are just motivated to live and I give them what help I can
