You could be arrested at any time for any made up charge, or anything that is supposed to be legal that is defacto not legal.
Thankfully, I live in a small city where that’s practically never been a problem. Matter of fact, I’ve been stopped by a police officer while on bicycle and drinking a beer, only for him to tell me they recently changed the laws and that is perfectly legal, as long as I don’t cause any trouble.
I assure you that it’s something a modern society does. I wish it didn’t, but apparently we’ve chosen to believe that there is a such thing as a justified rape.

Sometimes I see people act like Trump and this wave of internet-brained far right nutjobs was a complete surprise, that it came out of nowhere.
But. We’ve been acting like prison rape is somehow a just punishment for longer than I’ve been alive. And we have the highest rates of incarceration per capita in the whole world. The US has been on this trajectory for a long time. Trump is just that same trend but more brazen and more shameless about what it does.
