@tness@venera.social @palestine@a.gup.pe By covering up the occupation of Palestine by not putting human rights and international humanitarian law central in their trade dealings with Israel and by giving Palestinians aid instead of supporting them getting their rights the EU definitely contributed to the attack of Hamas. An occupied people have the right to resist, also with arms.
International law, international humanitarian law and human rights are clear. The EU sees it clearly when Russia breaks them and has been looking the other way when Israel does the same as Russia, for a long, long time. Probably, the weapons and trade deals are more important than those “European values.” In that sense, the EU did push Hamas to attack. As Hamas is responsible for its own actions, so is the Israeli government and army and everybody living there on stolen land and in stolen houses.
