I like original metaphors, well-crafted novels, and non-fiction in biology, chemistry, criminology, psychology, and psychiatry. I am on the absurdist-humanist continuum, agnostic rather than atheist only because I have seen too much weirdness to be certain of anything. I spend much of my time as a family caregiver. I am occasionally a fierce and pragmatic policy advocate for those with serious psychiatric illnesses. I enjoy hiking and music in free time. I am a retired university administrator.
@[email protected] The experiences described in this article are well known to the parents of children born with brain disorders that come with behavioral symptoms. It is hard for me to not react with vitriol to the stories of what these children endure at the hands of willfully ignorant adults.

I am looking forward to my morning coffee. I am just waiting a bit longer to let my wife sleep, before I engage with the noisy burr grinder and espresso machine. A local roasting company is only a few miles from my house, so my beans are always fresh. I am still using a little sugar and a splash of milk, until my doctor says I must stop.
