Surprised nobody mentioned Terraria, especially old Terraria before they added a bunch of QoL improvements to crafting where you’d have to find which small chest holds your iron bars mixed with the million and one pieces of loot you refuse to let go of.

My mother had a Harley for a few months and quickly traded it back in because it was too loud, the positioning of the handlebars made her arthritis flare up, and the maintenance was more expensive overall compared to the one she previously owned. Even idling it would be so loud that you just couldn’t sleep which was hell since I was working night shift at the time.

Saw people talking about it on trans forums back in the late 00s and how it was a real thing and it freaked me out. Being over a decade into it at this point though I’d argue my sexuality is not different but I just know more details about it. At 16 it’s pretty easy to be like “I like girls,” paired with internalized homophobia and transphobia then going “I like girls thus I’m only into cis women.” Once you take a hammer to some of the foundational parts of your identity it’s a lot easier to reexamine some of those broad statements you made as a teen and find that maybe you’re a bit more flexible than you thought or sometimes you push a bit too far and find that actually you’re still not into guys even if they’re easier to hit up because chasers are easy early validation when you’re stuck in a dark place.

I remember back when I lived in the dorms for college and some of the horrific shit I saw and smelled is ungodly. I went to one of those “gamer” colleges and I had a pair of friends that I hated going into their room because it stank of feet, cum, and BO and it only got worse over the year. Then when I moved room the toilet was black with filth and I ended up spending >3 hours scrubbing it until me and my new roommate were comfortable even going near it, he was stuck cleaning other parts of the room in trade for me doing the toilet. I have no issue living cluttered and not living in an immaculate space, but I mean, have standards.

I made 26 an hour my first year working as an RN at a hospital, beyond the fact that I’ve been blacklisted at my local hospitals because the first one was a transphobic piece of shit, I don’t even want to go back anymore, I can work at a nursing home with less interstaff drama, less stress, and less risk to my own health while making more than the hospitals pay even after they had to jump pay up 10+ an hour just to get some nurses back.

I remember my mother buying like 2000 pounds of gravel/stones and loading it in the back of our tiny compact Kia Rio, it bottomed out the suspension and was one of the worst rides home. More than triple what he has, and that little car kept trucking for over 20 years.

Earlier this year we had COVID rip through our unit, half of our residents got it. Since it’s a dementia unit it’s nigh impossible to quarantine people because they either will come walking out and get aggressive if you try to keep them inside, or they’ll find a way to fall. While most made it through the quarantine period, it still took its toll, we had 6 die within a few days of each other a bit after we were fully cleared on the unit, they just weren’t able to make back out on the other side. To that end, there are a fair few people that now have chronic coughs and we had RSV hit a few weeks later. The ones that died were already pretty precarious but as of now we have a new group that’s a bit more precarious and keeps getting sick.

I mean Hexbear darling Shaun has a 2 hour video on why the bombings were bad. The us firebombing campaign killed more civilians and destroyed more homes than the two nukes did. None of this absolves Japan of their crimes, but the US absolutely weren’t the good guys as evidenced by the post war occupation where leftists were crushed by American interest and the Korean Peninsula was split leading to a US backed genocide of Korea along with the US reinstating Japanese rule.

The fact that it’s a rarity for it to even be discussed let some acknowledged that Japan were the bad guys by Japanese people overall reflects the conditions where no true punishment and learning occurred. The bombs did nothing but kill civilians to force an end of a war so the US could ramp up the next one.

Similarly the us hasn’t learned or been punished for it’s own war crimes so it should still be discussed.

I recently finished Pacific Drive, it was pretty fun, but I feel like it could’ve probably been a bit shorter and the grind a bit less overall to make the mid game transition to the end game more.

I picked up Sifu and that’s been fun. Kinda hits that Sekiro itch.

I know Rimworld is getting another expansion pack though I usually have to play on a few month delay if I want my 300+ mod list to remain current. Though I will say it just sorta feels like they’re just doing an official version of the rather popular Lovecraftian mods that are out there already.

Then I’ve been playing minecraft here and there after watching 15+ hours of a dude build amazing things with Create and almost makes me feel like I could do that until I remember dude spends hundreds of hours on it and I don’t have that kind of time anymore.
