Wait, how did you take that picture? winkwink
Wait, how did you take that picture? winkwink
That was my first linux distro I tried, took 12 minutes to boot on my Pentium 75 with 8mb RAM. Still better then win98 though
to see it smash
I’m not really sure why I expected here but I was satisfied anyway
Give it two more years and brave will stop backporting manifestv2, then you have even less options to avoid google deciding which content needs to be shoved in your face.
I’m using Firefox since forever. In the past I have checked a few times if a swap to chromium is worth it. It never was.
I really don’t understand people that prefer Google over Mozilla. Firefox works like a charm and Google already knows enough about us IMHO.
My tipp: don’t try to analyze and think to much about yourself. It’s like thinking about the way you walk and suddenly walking feels strange and forced. You can’t change who you are, don’t even try it.
Instead try to focus on her, everyone loves a good, active listener. You are there to get to know her anyway, aren’t you?
One thing you should take to your heart. Finding a good match isn’t an easy task, don’t go on a date expecting her to be the one. Eventually you will get disappointed or rejected, that is totally normal and nothing to worry about. It just means you and her weren’t a good fit.
And don’t try to act in a way thats untypical for you just to impress her. You want her to get to know the real you, not the impression of someone you think she would like.
Think about it like a casual date without any expectations is the best you can do
I think they are saying that in their revised universe there would be an absolute humanity spanning moral code.
I think what we have is something much better. A flexible morality which is taught from generation to generation and adapted as needed. An absolut moral code wouldn’t work.
Funny enough, that’s exactly the way it actually is. And I believe this system still works; not that we could change it anyway.
And the things that that moral code decide are bad are bad always for everyone regardless.
Still, this is how it is. It discourages immoral actions even when nobody sees them happening, because the person doing them still knows and feels bad/shame/worries.
It’s fucking crazy. I see it like that: capitalism is king at maximizing profits. That’s what capitalism is good at. Capitalism is a tool.
I hate it when someone expects big corporations to act morally. That’s none of its business. Again, capitalism is just a tool that does one thing: maximizing profit. Just like the hammer is not at fault if you hit your thumb the corporations aren’t at fault if their profit maximizing does more harm then good.
We, the people, the benficianries of why capitalism even exists, are responsible to use that tool the right way in the right situations.
And how do we do that? By creating rules and laws that restrict the ways profit can be maximized in situations where it is not at our best interest.
Now please tell me:
Whose fucking idea was it to allow corporations to hire a few dozen lobbyists that professionally influence politicians?
Why should a corporation be allowed to sponsor the election of a person? Don’t you think this is already way too much influence for the cancer that capitalism can be if allowed to grow unconditionally at the wrong places?
Please stop letting immoral corporations influence the rules they need to obey for some irrelevant profit gains that fuck us all over big time in the long run! (fracking anyone?)
The market will sort itself out, or so they say. Let’s be brave and create rules that help us tackle the myriad of problems we all experience right now (global warming, housing crises, health insurance, gun violance…) and watch in awe how the corporations manage to find ways to make a profit while still benefiting us as a whole.
That’s how you use a tool!
Peace out
P.S.: Critique at my train of thoughts or writing style is appreciated. I’m rather stoned right now and english isn’t my first language, so please be gentle.
So, let’s say we create an llm that will be fed will all the copyrighted data and we design it, so that it recalls the originals when asked?! Does that count as piracy or as the kind of legal shananigans openai is doing?
Nice read. I find it really interesting that due to the unwillingness of many to learn something new, America is almost the only country that still uses these silly measurements.
5280 ft in a mile my ass. You don’t even use 0.x numbers but fractions like 7/8th instead. And still some people believe that 1/4 pounder is bigger then a 1/3 pounder. That’s crazy
Its not about being better, its about privacy and freedom. Without Opensource and Linux that were defended by people that understood the impact and importance of freedom in the past, we wouldn’t be today were we are now.
Look at PC and Smartphones. Compare WhatsApp protocol to SMTP. Heck, imagine TCP/IP would have been invented and supported by microaoft only. Internet wouldn’t exist.
I know and i still don’t care. All the crapton privacy violations and vendor lockin we all have to deal with are a direct cause of the unwillingness of these people to value their own and others privacy.
That has a bad impact on me and many others. Thats way worse than sometimes beeing reminded that you are using a system that perpetuates these problems because you are lazy.
People line that are fucking all of us over with their carelessness but cry out loud if someone dares to suggest to try a system that doesn’t want to steal all our data and rip us off?!
lemme guess: you know we are right and can’t stand that you don’t have a good response?
Wow, thats expensive, wasn’t aware it got that expensive. I bought it for 5 bucks or so a few years ago.
To be honest, I would still pay, if I hadn’t already, it’s that good.
I second that! Been using it for ~4 years now and I so much prefer it to the old launchers. After installing it I completely stopped testing new launchers.
Does anyone still remember the old (2010) launcher called slide it. Unfortunatly it was discontinued and I have always been searching for an adequate replacement. In Niagara I have found it.
Anyway, back to why i like Niagara so much. With every other launcher the workflow is like this:
which takes ages and is tedious.
On Niagara I just swipe along the left or right edge until the letter my apps name is starting with appears and click the icon. That’s it.
Having notifications beneath your favorite apps and an included media control app when audio is playing is superb. (I’m using the pro version). Calendar is aCalendar btw.
Best few bucks I have ever spend for some android app.
You are contradicting yourself. By moving into a wealthy country you neither gain education nor wealth. Its about culture and environment.
My guess is: in wealthy countries people are living more isolated. Without help from friends and family you have to invest a huge amount oft time into rising a child, which many can’t afford.
As a european i think its fucking disgusting that sick days in america are substracted from vacation days. Don’t you deserve any vacation because you happen to be sick more often then someone else?
Here in germany, if I geht sick during a vacation, i’ll call work and get back all the vacation days that I happened to be sick, because everyone should use his vacation days to regenerate and relax, not to lie in bed being sick.
It does, but that doesn’t cause the error. After failing to boot via pxe the system tries to boot from hard disk and that fails too. Bad HDD most likely
Give it 5 more years in hardware performance improvements and software/model optimization and I don’t see a problem. The important part is that improvements are made public for everyone to use and improve upon instead of letting openai and microsoft take the whole cake
We’d need a way to attract CO2 to separate it from the rest of the air, and afaik that doesn’t exist.
Call me crazy but what about plants and trees?! 🤷🏼♂️
They might not be 100% efficient but it’s dirt cheap to plant them, let alone not destroy the rest we still have
Mate, you have zero experience how to drive but feel the need to tell others what is save and what not?
Can people please shut up talking about topics they know nothing about?!
It definitely gets easier after muscle memory kicks in. Doesn’t really make a difference if manual or automatic.
