I recently read Mythic Bastionland, by Chris McDowall 🛡️⚔️.
In #TTRPG, play examples / replays are generally used to illustrate what an “ideal” game should look like.
Here, the author includes dysfunctional situations and discusses how to handle them.
I don’t remember encountering this way to use replays in a core rulebook before, it’s pretty interesting :blobthinking:.

It is nice that Chris and Alex both use realistic dialogue between players, this is always helpful to me.
I noticed that McDowall’s examples seldom deliver one ‘perfect’ solution, but there are often different ways to help solve a problem. Also, people often disagree about these.
Just like my table!
@Whidou@ludosphere.fr @ttrpg@a.gup.pe I’m reading it as well. I agree, it’s an interesting approach. Actually we would need both in a ttrpg book. Some of us learn from i deal/good examples and some of us from worst/bad examples.
