    You cannot see the toys move but you can see if they’ve moved around or changed something in their environment. That’s pretty much how particle physics works.

    There a whole branch of quantum mechanics research that’s trying increasingly complicated ways of not looking at the particles while trying to sneak a look.

    I once read somewhere that our current approach with accelerators is like studying the inside of a walnut by smashing them with a very large hammer.
