I haven’t painted my nails in a few years, so maybe my knowledge is out of date, but - this used to happen to me when I painted them too soon after removing a previous color. It’s like there’s some residue of the acetone that sticks in some porous bits of my nails and needs a few hours to come out? Idk.

A couple hand-washings and lotion applications and several hours between removing one color and applying the next was successful for me. 🤷 My nails tend towards porous and brittle though, maybe that’s not your problem.

I completely understand that feeling of regretting missing that last time to chat and hang with him. My oldest sister died suddenly a few days before I moved home from out of state, and we had barely spoken in weeks because I was busy getting ready to move back.

From everything you’ve said about your relationship, though, I think he must have absolutely loved and treasured you. It seems like he really understood you as a person, and I bet he was happy to postpone plans to make your life easier.
