It’s funny when you realize that RE is partially meant as a Japanese homage to American horror+action movies and the first (non-cutscene) death is Kenneth, a black guy. So it would just be holding up a mirror to our own cultural atmosphere at the time.

I’m sure if the cultural warriors lived back then, they would have manufactured a story about how Capcom making a black supporting character who doesn’t instantly die in RE2 (Marvin) was because they were worried about offending the wokes.

Gamers have just become soccer moms it’s ridiculous.

They suck off Japanese games now but the instant Murdoch says otherwise, they’ll be calling to ban them because they contain “unamerican” messages.

Chuds don’t like Japanese media or foreign media in general. They used to hate video games, comics and so on. Most of the time they just pretend to like it, so they can try to convert younger, nostalgic 30-somethings to their side.

That’s not to say that there have always been reactionaries within these groups, but they weren’t as open and there weren’t as many of them before Gamergate.

It’s so funny seeing nerds dickriding conservatives when they see these childless single men playing with children’s toys and watching cartoons as worthless d*generates who should be sent to die in a war

The Nazis in the 20s/30s were full of who we’d consider failsons now. Half of them were lazy sons of factory owners and they kept repeatedly failing out of calvary school. The other half were people like Himmler who were opera nerds and obsessed with ancient runes. They were the anime otaku of their day.
