I’d say about 80% of Republicans will enthusiastically support anything the GOP does
That’s the maximum size of the population that could be considered violent fascists, so even if they all are invested enough to actually do something violent (they won’t be), that’s still “just” 20% of the voting-eligible population.
The real strength of fascists comes if they can capture the state and use its legitimacy to get their more passive supporters (and libs) to go along with state violence, or at least not violently oppose it.
The U.S. has long applied this towards the outside world (imperialism), but the frontier is getting closer and closer to home.
