It makes me think the Trump campaign itself doesn’t have have any money or ground game, so they’re trying to take whatever the RNC has.

But, I swear I was reading stories about how state Republican orgs are having lots of money issues and also the RNC has money issues.

I have said it before, a lot of what have been achieved by the Biden Democrats are very appealing to the Republican donor class. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that many of them have already silently jumped ship. Only the culture war zealots have the incentives to stay in the Republican party. Otherwise the Democratic Party is the more competent fascist party.

I hope the RNC sends out emails like this to republican candidates…

Dear [Mr. / Mrs.] [AI mail merge],

For a one* time payment of $99.99 to Trump2024 - President Trump will support you and you will receive an autographed Trump2024 photograph of Our President. In addition a Trump2024 coffee mug will be charged to your credit card the low, low price of $19.99. It’s a steal. Be informed that you must make this patriotic donotion and patriotic purchace to receive funds from the RNC…"

And in a tiny 7 point font at the bottom there’s this…

    *Not a one-time payment. You will be billed mutliple [AI number input: 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8] times with corresponding auto-purchase(s).

And then some small potatoes GOP pol in some podunk race for representative loses his temper and has the audacity to tweet…

I fully support President Trump. But I can’t tolerate this shakedown of at least 120 dollars I have to pay to get RNC funds. It might even be hundreds of dollars by election day. More than $1,000? This is outrageous.

And within hours he’s getting death threats, his wife is getting death threats, their daughter is getting death threats, their dog is getting death threats… That night the pol records a bend-the-knee Tiktok including his wife, his daughter, and the dog. He says he was “hacked” and he’s pleased to give to Trump2024 so he can have the honor of getting RNC funds.

honestly? duh. if you’ve won the primary (de jure or de facto) why not merge operations with the party you’ve just been elected head of?
