The narrative I’ve been seeing is that it’s actually a setup because Biden knows Trump will decline to “work together,” thus exposing the hypocrisy of the Republican party and showing the hogs that the Democrats are the ones who really want to do fascist border shit, which is now good actually (as long as Biden does it). Just a Matryoshka nesting doll of delusional stupidity.
It’s kind of wild how this relentless focus on hypocrisy has resulted in democratic supporters tricking themselves into cheerful nihilism. Like cool, the Republicans were just pretending to kick a puppy for the shock value but you’re going to actually go through with it, and that demonstration of commitment makes you better?
